We offer our clients a full recycling service by partnering with a number of service providers around South Africa.
Recycling Service
Eco Assist is the link between people and enterprises that produce waste and the service providers.
We arrange collections, evaluate service providers. We provide our clients with the assurance and peace of mind that the waste they produce is being recycled in an environmentally sound, legally compliant manner.
The companies to which we deliver the recyclable materials are ISO-certified to accumulate, break down and reconstitute the materials into secondary raw materials. These are used to produce new goods, for instance, glass into new glass bottles, plastics into flooring and cans into aluminum products.
We sort the waste that we collect in Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) that conform to all health, safely, and environmental requirements. We deliver the materials which cannot be recycled, to certified landfill sites.
Home Recycling Service
Once you have signed up to our service recycling at home is easy. Just put all your recyclable materials (Bags) into your recycling bins and put the bin out on your pavement on your allocated collections day and we will come and empty it.
There is no need to sort any of your recyclables, we will do that for you. You will, however, need to rinse out any dirty containers. In most cases if they aren’t rinsed we aren’t able to recycle them so please just run them under the tap for a second before dropping them in the bin. This mainly applies to plastic containers, sauce bottles and polystyrene trays.
Tell me more about the bins?
The bins we use are 240l wheelie bins that are labeled as recycling bins. They are easily distinguishable from those of the municipality. Should you need more than one bin an additional bin can be supplied at an additional cost.
You may use your own bin or buy one from us at R495.
What can I put into the bins?
We recycle all forms of recyclable household waste. This includes paper, plastic, cans/tins, glass and certain types of polystyrene.
The Cost.
The service costs R70 per month or you can pay for the year up front and only pay R800. Additional bins will be charged at R35 per month or R380 per annum. And a once of Membership registration fee off R100.00
Complex recycling
Generally there are two different types of complexes. Those who have a communal rubbish area and those where people keep their rubbish at their units. These two different types of complexes require different recycling solutions.
How it works
For complexes with communal rubbish areas
The best thing to do here is to place a number of blue and white wheelie bins into this area. Residents will then keep their recyclables separate from their other waste and place it into the coloured bins. We will collect the bins on a fortnightly basis.
Complexes where rubbish is kept at each unit.
In this situation each unit will need bin in which to place their recyclable materials. On a set day these bins will need to be taken down to the gate where we will collect and empty them.
What can I recycle?
We collect nearly all household recycling. Paper, plastics, glass and cans/tins.
Service fees.
The cost for the collections will vary according to which type of complex you have and how many bins are being collected.
Option 1 (communal bin area)
Monthly service fee
4 to 8 bins = R 65.00 per bin
12 to 18 bins = R 55.00 per bin
22+ bins = R 45.00 per bin
Start up costs = R495.00 per bin
Option 2 (Private bins)
Each unit would need to subscribe to the service and buy a wheelie bin in which to place all their materials. The service fee would vary according to the number of units signed up to the service.
Monthly service fee
Less than 10 units = R 70.00 per bin
10 + bins = R 65.00 per bin
20 + bins = R 55.00 per bin
Start up costs = R495.00 per bin
How do I get started?
All you will need to do is fill out the Complex sign up form. We will then do all the necessary paper work and arrange to deliver the bins to your complex once payment has been made.
You will then be allocated a collection day and sent a list of collection dates as well as a list of what can and can’t be recycled.
Office Recycling
Generally there are two different types of Offices. Those who requier reporting and those who just whant to make a differance.
How it works
Offices requiering reporting.
You will Requier to separate your materials in to 4 catogaries (Glass, Plastic, Paper and Can/Tin) there for you will need 4 induvidual recycling bins. We recommend starting the prossess in the office by placing sets of 4 bins around the office area.
We will collect the bins on a fortnightly basis. Weekly option avalible.
The Cost of the Service is R 260.00 per set of 4 external bins.
The Startup bin cost is R 495.00 x 4
General Offices no reporting.
In this situation you will need 1 bin in which to place all your recyclable materials. There is no need to sort any of your recyclables, we will do that for you.
